A pharmaceutical company needed a multi-functional system that would continuously assemble two pieces of a syringe. The system also needed to be able to stop and inspect the assembly, while maintaining continuous control of the product.
Hoppmann developed a hybrid machine that accepted a variety of peripherally mounted equipment to perform the paused, or secondary functions (in this case, measurement/leak inspection and camera inspection for label presence). The product was assembled in the first half of the duel turret then passed off to the second turret for the inspection functions. For the customer, less equipment needed to be used, an overall much smaller footprint was necessary, and the changeover was easy and seemless.
